James: James Schramko here from SuperFastBusiness. Over there, we’ve got Ron Reich from RonReich.com. Good day, Ron.
Ron: Great to be here. As always.
James: Ron specializes in helping people go from six to seven figures. I do a very similar thing and we do them in different ways, which is the most interesting thing. And we see mistakes, lots of big mistakes. And in this little video, we’re going to cover one of the biggest mistakes that prevent six-figure businesses from reaching seven figures.
Ron: Sounds good. And so yes, one of the big mistakes that I see all the time is really that entrepreneurs, they just do not stay focused.
Whenever I asked six-figure entrepreneurs what the biggest mistake they made, they almost will always say, either I got distracted, which is the opposite of being focused. Or they’ll just say, I have seen that work, and I just decided to veer courses, I decided to start this new thing. If they just focus on what worked and consistently executed it, they’d have gotten to seven figures much faster.
James: Cool. So it’s a matter of setting your parameters right. Putting on your glasses or setting the binoculars to the exact focal point you want on the object and then blocking stuff. I talk about putting up the bumper bowlers you know, when you go 10-pin bowling, you can’t go in the gutter.
Ron: Absolutely.
James: I think it’s partly a curse with entrepreneurs that we get so excited, we can see the opportunity and everything. Whatever the market’s doing, we tend to get sucked up into it. The time we recorded this, literally every single online marketer is talking about NFTs and cryptos. But I can tell you what they’re not focused on. They’re not focused on their book or their launch or building their membership or selling their agency services because they’ve got distracted. And I think it seems like this distraction or that the unfocus is actually a nice way of keeping yourself entertained and avoiding the responsibility of what’s going to happen when you reach seven figures. So thanks, Ron.
So the big takeaway from today is – be honest with yourself about all the activities on your agenda, maybe write them all down, score them, put a big circle around the number one thing that has to happen, and make that non-negotiable.
Ron: That is great advice. One hundred percent. Do that and you’ll get there.
James: Thanks, Ron. We’re gonna catch up with a couple more of these little videos and I’ll speak to you soon.
Ron: Can’t wait. Talk soon.
