James Schramko here. Today, I want to share with you what you can do if you have a video piece of content, how to get the word out.
Recently, a client of mine made a great presentation for his target audience. And then he asked me what he can do with that video. Well, of course, you can put it to YouTube. And make sure when you do that, that your description is very appealing for your target audience, that you use the right tags, and that you have a hyperlink for your website address in the description inviting people to follow up, to get more. You have to put the full URL to make that hyperlink. You can’t just put the website address, you got to put HTTPs, etc. Also, you can put that up on SlideShare.net. You can put your presentation on LinkedIn, especially if you’re B2B. People are going to really like that because LinkedIn is relatively boring compared to YouTube or Facebook. So people in their cubicles are keen to watch it.
Make sure with your video that you put captions so that people can read the video, because a lot of people will be watching these videos with the sound turned off. Also, if it’s a YouTube video, you can actually put it in your signature in emails and it will start a thumbnail of that video in Gmail. So it’s actually going to be quite visual. If you’re using it to actually get customers, this is a nice place to put the video.
So those are a few ideas you can do with the video. Of course there are other things you can do, like, run ads for the video, load it up to Facebook natively and put it on your website with an article around it and attract some of that search engine optimization.
So hopefully, this is helpful. If you’ve got other questions like this, please send them in to me. And that’s james [at] jamesschramko.com. I’d be happy to answer your questions on future videos.
