James Schramko here, and if you have any kind of lead generation, if you’ve been to trade shows, for example, you need to be aware of the decay rate.
I used to do a lot of tradeshows when I was a salesperson for a luxury brand, Mercedes-Benz, and what I noticed is after the trade show, some of the leads would start to cool off. In fact, every day that you left it, they were becoming less and less excited, to the point where even a week or two later, they might not even remember who you are or that they even went to the trade show.
So this is really important: if you’re collecting leads or prospects, make sure that you either have a human or some kind of automation to follow up early. The early follow-up will get you better results. Don’t leave it too long. In fact if you leave an email for a long period these days, and don’t interact with it, and then get in touch, you’re likely to find that it is dead or unresponsive.
So keep it fresh, keep it timely, and you’ll avoid your decay rate and you’ll increase and maximize your opportunities. I’m James Schramko, I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s video, this is jamesschramko.com.
