James Schramko here. Today, I want to share with you a technique to cut through procrastination. If you’re putting something off, this might really help you.
Sometimes, I’ll be speaking to a customer and they’re putting something off; something really valuable that could be worth ten thousand, fifty thousand, a hundred thousand, even a million dollars to them; like updating a webinar or publishing a book, and they just don’t get to it because it’s important but it’s not urgent.
So, what I do is I work out the value of this objective. How much is it worth to them? And then if they say fifty thousand, or a hundred thousand, I say, if you had a client who paid you $50,000 to rewrite their webinar, would you be able to fit them in? And of course they say yes, and I say, well that’s you. You are your best client so book yourself in and get it done. And when you reframe things this way, it makes it easy to do the high-impact task now.
