James Schramko here. Today, I want to share with you how I had one of the biggest months that I’ve had in many years with my membership sales campaign. And it was doing a specific technique that I think could be useful if you have a product or service and you’ve been in business for any amount of time and you want to make more sales for a very leveraged effort, then you might want to do this campaign.
So. what I did is I surveyed my audience and I asked them for advice and I took this concept from Robert Cialdini. And I asked for their advice instead of their opinion, and I took all that feedback and I broke it down into three different categories. And that was, advice that I probably wouldn’t take or I’m not going to implement, then there were things that people told me that we actually already have and maybe they don’t know about it because they used to be a customer and they’re no longer a customer or maybe they are a customer and I haven’t communicated it effectively enough. So, I need to make sure I communicate that. And then the third thing is the advice that I’m going to take that will make changes.
And then what you do is, you communicate the change. So, I went back to my audience and I said, “Here’s what I’ve got, these three different categories. And here’s the advice I am going to take,” and I also combined that with a small bonus and a time limit where I had a price change. And I went back to the market with this and I ran a small campaign. And I used a combination of Instagram stories, Facebook ads and, of course, emails which I have lots of in my system-triggered based emails set to a sequence. And it resulted in an amazing sales month for my business.
So what I did is, I documented the entire thing and I’ve loaded it up for SuperFastBusiness members so SuperFastBusiness members can now see the emails I sent, the bonus I made, the methodology behind the campaign, some of the subtle things you could get terribly wrong if you didn’t know better.
There are typical parts of this campaign where your normal everyday marketer is going to make mistakes. They’re going to try and do things that would actually ruin the results. So, if you have got a customer database of people who used to buy from you who no longer buy, if you have a database of people who have watched a video or seminar or webinar but didn’t buy, and if you have events or any other kind of product where you can have a cross-sell or an upsell that are complementary product, then this training would drastically help you.
