James Schramko here. Today, I’m going to share with you a tip for making a lot more money from your same customers. Simply do this: ask your customers what else they buy or survey them. And what you’ll find is they’re making plenty of purchases. If they’re buying stuff from you they’re definitely buying stuff from other people because they’re buyers.
So make an inventory: what other things do they buy? In my case, when I was selling information and coaching for online marketing, I knew people were buying software tools. I started out as an affiliate selling online website development software. So these days I also make sure I recommend for my clients the quality tools that I use in my own business because people want to know what I use. Also, I know someone who’s buying marketing information is buying plenty of other marketing information so it makes sense for me to align myself with software providers and educators who have courses, who are teaching things that I don’t necessarily teach but my customers need to know and they’re buying anyway.
So that’s my tip today. I know it’s strikingly simple. Find out what your buyers are buying elsewhere and see if you can become an affiliate or maybe you want to add this to your product lineup as an easy win because the easiest person in the world to convince that they should get something from you is someone who’s already purchased from you. And they have that rapport, they have the trust, they’ve got the return on investment, they got the results so they’re listening and they’re easily accessible usually via email. Certainly within memberships, podcasts videos, Instagram, wherever. Put your offer out there, you may be surprised.
