James: James Schramko here, with my good buddy, John Lint, from 10XPRO.io We’ve been sharing some tips lately on our Membership Series on the SuperFastBusiness podcast. We thought we’d make a few little videos, as well.
And today, we’re going to share a tip that can really help when you’re doing your email marketing that can intensify the desire of someone to make a purchase. And it’s a very simple tip as long as you possess the necessary equipment to do this which, thankfully, 10XPRO.io does. In fact, it provides this feature that many others charge thousands of dollars for.
John, how can we improve the response rate to the emails we’re sending out?
John: Yeah. So again, you know, it’s part of our series about how to optimize our sales, how to make more money, how to improve our conversions. Well, one of the things that you can look at is, how to get more clicks from your emails. You get more clicks, you get more visits to your sales page, you get more visits to the order page, you increase your sales, right?
So, one of the things that our members have been using which is a built-in feature like you said, as part of 10XPRO.io, is using email countdown timers. The cool thing with 10XPRO, we have what we call fixed date countdown timers, timers that count to a specific date. But we also have more advanced countdown timers such as, automated countdown timers that you can set up very easily as part of a campaign. But bottom line, each countdown timer comes built in with an email countdown timer.
And it’s just a little piece of code that you copy, you paste in your email system. Whatever email system you’re using, you paste that there. And now, when people receive that email, they will see an email countdown timer, a countdown timer that counts down to your specific deadline.
So, in your email, it’s almost like you don’t have to do anything you don’t have to sell, you don’t have to say, Hey! Go there. They see the countdown timer. And the countdown timer is a universal symbol that time is counting down, something is going to expire. Everybody knows that. So, when they see that countdown timer in the email, it creates that urgency, that scarcity and it motivates people to say, Okay, well I’m going to check it out. I want to see what it’s all about. That allows you to get more clicks.
When you do, you get more visits to the sales page, like you said. And that’s how you can increase your conversions. And, hopefully, make more money.
James: There you go. So, if you have scarcity and if it is a reason why someone should buy now instead of waiting which is a big problem when it comes to conversions. If people feel like, Well, I can just buy this some other time, then that will cause a delay.
So, as soon as you put a deadline or some kind of countdown timer, that will increase conversions, typically, for pretty much any buyer. The trick, of course, is to use that in a way that is ethical and that is genuine. So, it works really well for promotions where you have a real specific reason why you have a limitation on the time that this would be available to the public.
It’s something I suggest you use carefully. I used to use these a fair bit. I don’t have them most of the time but I’d still use them when it comes to early bird pricing for my live event. Because people who order early, get the lowest rates because they’re taking the biggest risk and they have to wait the longest to the event. And I want to reward them. So, that is a legitimate reason why you can use a countdown timer because we have a price change on the first day of the month, several months prior to my live event. So, that’s an example of how you can use it.
Of course, with 10XPRO.io, you can sell event tickets, you can sell information products, you can sell memberships, you can sell courses. It’s all built into the machine. You just have to add your own email CRM system which you would draw from any of the popular suppliers because that’s a whole sophisticated business in itself.
But the beauty is, you can just plug in, the one that you’re using. Whether that’s Ontraport, Infusionsoft, ActiveCampaign, MailChimp, they’ll all work straight out of the gate with 10XPRO. And you get to control your own email database but this tool will still work in whatever system you use, right, John?
John: Yeah, exactly. You plug it in, integrate, and boom! You’re ready to go.
James: Love it. Thank you so much. That’s John Lint from 10XPRO.io, check it out. I’m James Schramko. This is jamesschramko.com
