James Schramko here. I’m at a conference, and one of the big things that they’ve been talking about is thinking way bigger, along the lines of Peter Diamandis, like XPRIZE. And an interesting thing came out in discussion and it was that if you choose a really positive mental model – even if it’s not true – there’s some science to suggest that you can actually experience the benefits of it.
The Placebo Effect
And that sort of reminded me of the placebo effect. If you were to take a placebo pill, and pretend that it gave you super powers, apparently some people would actually experience a lift in their self-belief, their self-abilities, and and they may actually achieve things that they may not have thought possible. I’m sure that a lot of athletes have mental games that they play or exercises that they do or visioning exercises that achieve this sort of result.
So one of the things that I’ll be bringing in in an upcoming episode is I’m going to be having a discussion with someone who does a lot of mind work stuff, and he’s behind some of the popular brainwave entrainment tracks that people use to clear their mind.
Are you a big thinker?
So I’m really interested in this topic. I’m wondering where you’re at in terms of what you’re planning for next year. Are you thinking big? Are you thinking normal, smart, achievable goals, or are you really going to lift the lid on it?
I’d love to know what your thoughts are so we can continue this discussion.
Well, I’m James Schramko. I’d love to have you comment right below this video.
Tell me what your big thinking is for next year, and let’s follow this thread and see how we go with it.
