James Schramko here. Today, I’m going to address how to position yourself in a crowded marketplace.
Hey, I’ve been podcasting for about nine years now and one thing that I’ve done is just keep turning up. I found by consistently putting out content that is one way to position myself against other people. The other thing is I listen to and respond to my best customers. They tell me what they like.
And one thing they say is they like that I tell them things directly. I’m straight to the point. In fact, you could subscribe to SFBTV on iTunes* and you will get a constant stream of one to two-minute videos. In fact, you could get 50 tips an hour listening to this podcast. So direct and to the point is what my customers like about me. So, I actually bring that to the front of my persona. When you deal with me, when I coach you, I will tell you the truth. I will share with you what I really think. And people love that because sometimes they’re missing it.
The other thing you can bring to the table is your experience. What are you the best in the world at? What do people come to you for advise with and for? Because that is an indicator as to how you might have great value to others in your marketplace. And if all else fails, just wear a crazy-colored t-shirt and people will at least remember your videos.
