I’m filming this video over here in Florida, where I’ve come to visit Kevin Rogers for his Copy Chief Live event. And after I presented, one of the questions I got was, how did you get good positioning in the US market amongst the top-level experts?
The short answer is you got to go there. I’ve been coming to the United States for over 10 years. Every year, I get on that plane, I do the long haul and I connect with people. And nothing replaces human connection. If you want to learn a market, if you want to become established, if you want to build your marketing customer base, go where you want to be known. I do the same for the UK and for Asia. And even with Australia. I used to travel around Australia, to Perth, in Queensland, Victoria and build out my network.
So that’s the short answer. Unfortunately, it’s not an easy answer. It actually requires effort and work. But if you are prepared to go to your market and make the connections and select the right events to go to, and of course, if you have great product, if you do really good work and build reputation, then in 10 years from now you might be the top of your field.
