James Schramko here. Today, I want to share with you the answer to this question – should you have a separate website for your new product or should it be on a page on your existing website?
I’ve got a test for this and the test is quite simple, is it the same customer or a different customer? If you have the same customer, I would start with a page on your own website because it’s much easier to add a page than to build a new website. It’s a lot less work, a lot less expense. If it’s a different customer that’s a different story. You might want to have your own website.
If it turns out in time that you want to turn this into a bigger brand and sell it then you will need your own website. But you don’t have to start that way. So that’s my test. Same customer or different customer and that would be the starting point.
