James Schramko here and a tip for employees. I was just speaking to one of my kids who is an adult and has a job. And he said, “Dad, what is the best thing I can do in my job?” And I said, the best thing you can do is be the best, like, stand out, shine.
It’s so rare for employees to step up. It’s as if they’re part of some cooperative where they just put in the minimum amount that they can put in without getting in trouble. What if you went way beyond? What if you did the absolute best performance you could muster, even if you’re a checkout clerk at the supermarket. Because I’ve encountered some of them, and sometimes they’re outstanding. It makes me really like that business. It doesn’t take long until your boss takes note. They will usually recommend you for more responsible roles that will often pay you more. And you’ll also get other people trying to employ you, that’s a side thing.
So, if you have a job or even if you actually have your own business, put in your best, like turn up. Make it the most effective performance you can possibly make it, and the results will always come.
