James Schramko here from jamesschramko.com. What do you do if you’re getting too many emails? Certainly, there’s a big revolution these days to have someone else handle them for you. And that’s terrific. And I created a whole product around getting rid of excessive emails. It’s called Inbox Relief. It’s inside SuperFastBusiness Membership for members.
The thing is, sometimes email can be a really powerful way to get new customers and to stay on top of things like stuff that has to be paid. It’s great to have someone else handle it. Certainly, you should send stuff off to a helpdesk for administration stuff like, how do I log in, where do I change my credit card. But if someone is trying to buy something or they have a genuine question, and you want to answer that, that’s okay.
I suggest you create a great environment where you have no distractions to deal with this. Set yourself a routine where you can focus and concentrate on this every single day at a certain time that suits you. And just turn everything else off. Turn off the distractions and just get in there and do it. You can certainly train Gmail to put things in the right filters and labels so that only the stuff you need to action is there.
Remember, your email is a to-do list that other people get to add things to, so don’t go and subscribe for a gazillion things. If you want to get off a lot of subscriptions, search for the word “Unsubscribe” and you’ll find most of your newsletters in your inbox. So hopefully, this helps you get a little bit sorted out with your emails.
I’m James Schramko. There’s all sorts of information like this inside SuperFastBusiness Membership. Hope to see you in there.
